I hope that this is an OK area to post this question.

Who were the guitar players touring with Grappelli in the early to mid 80's.
The question came up in conversation and I had no idea where to look.

Thanks folks

The last time i saw Grappelli play was at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in the early 80's. Martin Taylor was the guitar player and the music was superb!

    Thanks Ken.
The last time I saw him was in the early 80s in Halifax and I can't remember the line-up at all.
I do remember him sitting down at the piano and blowing my tiny little mind.
    This aging stuff sucks

    Thanks Brandoneon

    That name doesn't ring a bell...but that doesn't mean it wasn't him.

    Is he still around?

I did a youtube search and found him right away...great and thanks again

Yep, he's still around. I have a very recent album of him with Jacques Bolognesi (accordion) called Hermetotico ... very nice!

I suppose if you don't remember seeing a left-handed guitarist, it might not have been Marc Fosset...

Throughout the 80s, the guitarists who regularly played with Steph in his Hot Club style group were:-

    Diz Disley
    John Etheridge
    Martin Taylor
    Marc Fosset
    Louis Stewart

The first four are the most likely for the early to mid-80s.

I thought Diz Disley was more involved with Grappelli in the 1970s, before Martin Taylor.
Grappelli also made an LP and some tours in the early eighties with Larry Coryel and Philip Catherine.

He was but he just crept into the beginning of the 80's. Martin Taylor replaced him about 1980 but there was certainly at least one subsequent session when he came back and the guitar line-up was Disley and Taylor. For the majority of the second half of the 80s, I think it was Taylor and Fosset.

There were several other rhythm guitarists who popped in and out of the HCQ style group in the 80's but I think those I mentioned were the main ones.
