Cigano questions on strings, finish and bridge

What brand and gauges are the strings? The G
windings were shot at the frets in 2 days.

The satin open pore finish is very easily scuffed
up. This looks like a glossy streak although not
scratched. I was wondering if using steel wool
on this would be good. Also there is some excess
finish on one spot on the neck which I would have
to sand first. Would oil be okay if a spot is without
finish?

As far as Saga making the bridge too heavy, I don't
see it. I don't see where much more material could
be removed inside when they have cut a big groove
in there. Is it a matter of taking out more under the
arch?

Sagas generally ship with GHS strings.

Satin finishes aren't known for their protective qualities. The benefits of satin finishes are that they are very light and inexpensive. Seems to help the sound but doesn't guard the guitar against dings.
