Boum!

Anyone know the name of this song (see attached)? It is the first one on a Live Atelier Charonne radio show featuring Adrien Moignard and Costel Nicescu. A song listing on Manoucheries had it listed as "Boum (Charles Trenent)". I found a couple youtubes of Trenent singing Boum (Boom in English). Maybe its my lack of imagination, but it doesn't sound anything like this.

Anyhow, love the song and would like to identify it.

The link to the show were posted here a while back, but I can't find it now. Maybe there was a conflict and they were deleted. Search Manoucheries forum for Moignard, Nicescu and Atelier Charone and follow the links. 10-11 songs, great stuff.

    Hi Craig,

I think it is Boum...if you can find some mid-tempo versions on youtube the similarity is easier to hear than on the up versions Trenet sings. It also sounds like there might be some Blue Moon quoting going on that might be confusing things?

    best,
    Jack.

    Jack,

Sorry to be slow getting back to this. Yeah, I think you're right. I found this version of Trenet singing Boum. There is a similarity. I suppose there might have been others between Trenet and Costel Nicescu who developed the theme. Is this a popular song in France?

As to the version Costel Nicescu and Adrien Moignard are doing, sounds basically like rhythm changes in D with an Em bridge. I'm working on chord chart and will post it here eventually. I'm trying to get the voicings right. They are hard to hear as the rhythm guitar is so dry plus they seem to do it a little different each time around.
