Hello, I use one of the right hand approaches described in Gypsy Picking, the one with the fingers tucked in and the knuckles feeling the strings. It was a bit painful at first, but I developed the callouses Michael writes about and it feels perfect.
However, I discovered, when I try to pick faster stuff on the treble strings, I lack this support, as the knuckles have no strings to brush. My hand kind of naturally seeks some point of reference and I find myself brushing the bass strings instead, with the base of my thumb. Is this the correct way? Or how should you support your hand while picking on the treble strings?
Thanks a lot!
