    Hey Robin,
I saw you in Toronto at a major jazz fest in July 97........mmmmn maybe 98.
You guys ripped it up and I had never heard Django tunes played in that way (neither had the audience which was equally dazzled!). Your rendition of "Summertime", not in the Django reperoitoire, was a unique and very energetically artistic masterpiece. A harbinger of your success with the gadjo community to follow. It was an amazing performance and I got a chance to meet you and the group backstage, or off to the side actually. You signed the CD cover which I still display proudly today.
    Keep swingin"

Cool video. I love that tune btw I always play Eric Dolphy's version of it to close out my radio show. Does anyone have a chart of it on their computers? I should shed it.

Speaking of old the Toronto Jazz station has been playing the shit out of your "Ballads" and "Street" albums to promote your jazz fest show there.
I've heard you on there at least 6 times in the last week!
I forgot about that bolero Django's Castle.
    Nice.

I like that version of Harlem Nocturne! I was wondering if anybody on the GJ scene was doing that tune.

Did the dvdr of your set turn up in the post yet Robin?
It's much better quality that the YouTube vids i uploaded.
It is a great set btw. Nice to see it again after all these years. I love your ending to 'Sweet Georgia Brown'. 8)

John Friedrichs constant gum chewing makes me chuckle though.
