I'm trying to learn from recordings, and videos. Being a newbie to the genre, would some of the more experienced GJ players here in this group list their favorite CD for a particular tune to learn from. For example, in another post, I've read, someone said that most folks learn Bossa Dorado from the version done by the Rosenberg Trio. What's the name of that recording? I've found one on Amazon, but it's a live recording, is there another?
Other tunes I'm learning that I need info for are:
Swing Gitan
Lulu Swing
I have a number of Django recordings, so most of his tunes, I can listen to already, but these others are really something that's shows me how far behind I am with GJ. I wanna catch up! So, if you could list a tune and the recorded version, include artist title and CD title (or LP). It would help me out a lot, maybe other newbies like me, too.
Thanks in advance - and Vive Django!

I think this live version of Bossa Dorado (with Koen de Cauter) may even surpass the Rosenberg Trio's studio version. Did I mention it's free?

By Lulu Reinhardt & Hansche Weiss, I think that's the classic version.
For Swing Gitan I like how Angelo Debarre's plays it, there a bunch of versions for that including the one at the Bireli Live a Vienne DVD and the one from the Astuces book vol I.
Looking for more Rosenberg music. There's a live CD, with Van Dijk Louis - is this the one? There was also a multiple CD-and-Dvd collection of live, "LIVE 1992-2005," that they show on their discography but I can't find for sale. Anyone know about this? Tele?
pas encore, j'erre toujours.
Thanks, Jay. I didn't see any downloads on the Rosenberg site, save a 6-track mini-album, a bonus thing finishing out the Djangologists CD/DVD combo (I love this CD, and the DVD of them in studio, recording, is awesome...anyone happen to know where that studio is located? Gorgeous milieu, very inspirational....I want to build one here in rural Wisconsin!).
