Hello All,
Here's a great opportunity for everyone to contribute their opinion. A popular favorite among forums in general.
Here's my situation. I use a Shertler DYN-G pickup and play on a Shertler David amp. It does not provide enough volume. When I try any guitar with a piezo style pickup through a 1/4 inch jack on the amp, I am able to get way more than enough volume from my amp. I am considering installing a big tone or the like in my guitar to solve my problem, but I have not been too impressed with the dynamic reaction of those pickups...-meaning the volume window that I have when I play loud or soft is considerably less responsive. I am also open to purchasing the Shertler preamp if that will solve my problem.
Any opinions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Josh

Haven't tried the DYN-G, but I use a Baggs Para DI & David setup with a piezo pickup...the Baggs makes it a totally new (and MUCH better) experience. Tons of control over volume, tone, etc, and a lot more room to work with--used to have to turn way up just to be heard, and now I'm rarely above 30 or 40% even on our loudest gigs.
Plus, it makes a great direct box for bigger gigs...try it out!
best,
Jack
