Hey all,

A friend is looking for a translation of a review of his new album (not Gypsy Jazz), but I don't speak Dutch...if anyone wants to help out, it's just a few paragraphs, and I'd be glad to send some mp3s your way as thanks. (He already did the Google Translate version, but wants something from a fluent speaker.)

Here's the link.

best,
Jack.

Hi Jack, this is what it says in the link:

As Much Home As We Have imponeren.

    Translation:
This can be so confusing-bandnames who are almost similar.
At one time I thought to be buying the new album by Two Dollar Pistols but when the package arrived it turned out I had ordered something by Two Dollar Guitar, to my big diappointment.
Tim Foljahn´s band make great popmusic but his music can´t be compared to the infectious Americana by the Two Dollar Pistols.
Not long ago I jumped for joy when I found among the new release the name Ohbijou. Their album ¨Beacon¨is an enchanting record which sometimes recalls ¨Shellyan Orphan¨but to be fair I was actually expecting a new album by Oweihops, you might see where I got confused, two fantasynames starting with an O.
Luckily there is a new album by Oweihops, albeit for this moment only available through iTunes.
Oweihops is Michael Metivier´s band. Metivier, who is also writing for Popmatters, takes care of the plaintive vocals. He also writes the songs and defines the sound of the band. The cello and the slow tempo of the songs reinforce the melancholic character of Viburnum. Metivier almost succeeds in keeping one consistent atmosphere throughout the album, especially songs like War Diary, Finest Kind and As Much Home As We Have are impressive.
Viburnum is a beautiful album, full of character which would better suit an autumn or winter than this summer.
We have been waiting a long time for new material by Metivier.
Viburnum makes the long wait more than worth your while.

    END OF TRANSLATION

I hope to have been of service
    kind regards

Is that article about the Band "The 2 dollar pistols"? I met them a few years ago in Chapel Hill N.C. Nice guys I really like their stuff.

Sounds like the reviewer is into them too, but my buddy's band is Oweihops (second half of the article). He's a really good songwriter in the Leonard Cohen mold...nice to see him getting good press!

    best,
    Jack.
