A'int it hard enough for us new guys to keep our chins up when you pros play alone, Chris?
To all: WHAT A FANTASTIC TIME!!!!! A couple of days beneath a perfect blue canopy (moreso, Saturday)....my special thanks to Chris (and to his luthier, Scott Boyd) for their help on a new bridge setup (and for Chris's thoughts on harmonics, and the Gitane line, generally), and Chris, again, for an absolutely wonderful set on Saturday....I'd never heard Chris's band live, nor Robin nor Gonzalo; loved, as usual, Alfonso's wizardry. For someone new to this style, it was just tremendously gratifying to really hear the voices inside the form, see such mastery infused with individual heart, like this.
Kevin Nolan ran a great rhythm workshop...sat with some players in loose jam (my first experience jamming, ever) and all of it, in a beautiful, sylvan idyll. I definitely plan on going every year.
