Harlem in Montmartre

There is a very interesting PBS Great Performances program entitled "Harlem in Montmarte," in which there are some excellent film clips of Django and the Quintette playing. This may not be anything new, in terms of DR film footage but this documentary of jazz in Paris from the 20s through WWII is compelling and a fascinating look at the glory days of Montmartre and Pigalle. It will probably be airing later on most PBS affiliates around the country.

I caught the tail end of this Sunday night. Does anybody know who the guitarist in the live performance segments was? The end credits rolled by to fast to make it out.

Also discussed on another thread - the music was directed by Victor Goines, the Director of Jazz Studies at NW University, Chicago. I contacted Mr. Goines, hopeful of getting some information on the players, but would suspect he's not around campus these days. The other thread here:

I believe it to be Yorgui and Gigi Loeffler, plus another I did not recognize, nor did I recognize the violinist or bassist.

This was one of the best shows I have seen in a while, my DVR cut off the end of the recording, so I could not confirm the musicians, but the music was great. It ended with a great exchange between the two 'bands' in the documentary.

Anybody have this video to share?
I'm always interested in jamming with experienced jazz and gypsy jazz players in the San Francisco - San Jose area. Drop me a line. Bass players welcome!
