problem w/ AT831b

Hey everybody,

I just got the AT831b and I really like it, I tried it out with my bands PA and it's loud enough and delivers a beautiful natural tone, great for rhythm guitar. One problem though:

it's got a weird buzzing issue. It sounds like it's not grounded or something because it outputs a slight buzz, that increases with the volume, but if I touch the actual mic or even the clip of the mic it buzzes really badly. But here's the even weirder thing: when I hold the power module (the belt clip box) with my hand (or any where that's touching my skin) the buzzing completely goes away and it sounds great. So for the rest of the practice I clipped it to the inside of my pants so that the power module was touching my hip and it was fine.

When troubleshooting the issue I replaced the battery, tried a different outlet, plugged it into multiple amps/mixers, all with the same results.

Any ideas what the issue might be?

Thanks,
Tim
