    Couldn't agree more rimm

Got the album, Lagrene's 'More' is a really fine piece as is Rocky Gressets 'Time on my Hands'.

    Great Compilation

Had to do a little searching, but the melodies of the above tunes are wonderful. Really infectious particularly 'More' which was an academy award winner in 62 for the first Mondo movie. Anyway, here they are unadorned

It looks like the Rocky Gresset tracks on that compilation are from the album linked above.
I feel foolish to not have known about this album. I love Rocky's playing and the samples sound better than excellent. Cool choice of repertoire, and that guy sounds great on both his el. archtop (on a couple tracks) and acoustic guit (on the majority of the album). Also... does anyone know if that's Costel Nitescu on violin? That guy's awesome, and I hear he's becoming the go to violinist for a lot of people right now.

Looks like this one isn't available at Djangobooks right now...
Michael, did I miss my window snoozing, or are you planning on stocking this in the future?

    Best,
    Jack

    Soref,

Yes that's Costel Nitescu on violin. Diego Imbert on bass and Mathieu Chatelain on rhythm. Just got the album and you are right, its excellent. Lovely renditions, Wes Montgomery, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin. You just cant go wrong with those guys. Two of his own compositions on it too. Really good album, recommend it.

Oooh, thanks Redblues! What an excellent lineup. That's really a super quartet! This sounds like a must have album. Does anyone know of a store/webstore in the U.S. selling this disc?

    Best,
    Jack

Yep, the birthday year will be a good year for albums - great artists revisiting the roots this year... I'm pretty stoked about what we're going to be seeing/hearing in the coming months.
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.
