Would Django have used a magnetic pickup if?

This question has probably been posed, but I wonder if Django would have used a magnetic pickup had he had a choice between that or a good quality acoustic pickup/amp?
Not now dear, I have a terrible Djangover.

    When Django started using a magnetic pickup he was trying to incorporate new ideas in his style, including bebop influences. So I'd say the answer is yes, in that particular moment of his story...

    I think you are probably right about that, however I suspect he may have switched between the two even later in his career.Perhaps he would have preferred an acoustic pickup for his work with Stephane in the late forties, where he was unable to play bebop against the swing sound of violin.
