string tension

Hi,
I have been playing on my cigano gj 10 for a few weeks now.
Compared to my archtop the string tension is much tighter and
a am wondering if there is any way of loosening up the strings without lowering the action.
I now that over time string tension nauturaly loosen up.

What kind/guage of strings are you using on each guitar?

I got 10s on the cigano and 11s on the archtop.
I just wondering, but I think i can get used to it
  • What are the respective scale lengths

I think petite bouche guitars have a 26 1/2 " scale length (I think), whereas normal fender electric guitars have 25 1/2", and gibsons have 24.75" (aka they're both shorter). I'm not sure about your archtop, but it's almost certainly shorter scale that the cigano, which would account for the different string tensions. The cigano probably has higher action as well, which would make the strings feel tenser (as they are harder to push down).
