John Jorgenson PRO70 mic placement

bluetrainbluetrain Finland✭✭✭ Cach, Epiphone Triumph, Gibson ES-300
Hi!

In some most recent John Jorgenson Quintet pictures John and Kevin Nolan have placed their Pro70(?) microphones behind the treble moustache piece but I can't see in what direction the microphone is pointing. Is it pointing straight towards the top of the guitar or in some angle? How close to the top is the microphone? 1mm? 5mm?

I made one recording test with the microphone pointing straight towards the top and the sound was very pleasing. A little bit too dark but maybe with some equalisation very natural. I also compared this to the sound the microphone gave when it was placed inside the guitar (gonzalo, adrien etc) and when placed in violin type mounting betweeen the tailpiece and bridge and I think this "Jorgenson" placement was my favourite sounding.

Hi there, John places the microphone pointed directly towards the top of the guitar. Hope that helps :)
