Hi Guys & Gals-
I have recently made the leap into GJ as my current playing consists mainly of acoustic bluegrass and and other folkish type stuff. Have always been fascinated by this genre and am so excited to receive my presents to myself coming this week:
Gallato RS1939 Angelo Debarre - Paid $1300 shipped w/ case
Wegen GJ Pick
2 Sets Argentine strings
Denis Chang's volume 1 lesson video
Hopefully this is a good place to start. I wanted to start with a guitar that was not outrageous, but being I love collecting guitars anyway, I figured why not upgrade a bit to something intermediate....any opinions of this model? I have heard mixed things, but most are positive.

What gauge strings are you using? I tried 10s at first but found 11s to be even better.
There has been a lot of discussion as to whether it is entirely of European provenance or not, with some saying that some parts may be made in Asia and final assembly done in France. I don't think this has ever been resolved, but whatever the answer, it is still a very good guitar for the money, IMHO.
