Final Decision Help

So I have been saving my money and researching about a possible upgrade for a guitar and I have
come to the conclusion that I am going to save up from $1000 to $1500.

I was looking at the Gitane JJ Dg-320 and the Gitane JA Dg-350, but it seems that jumping to the DS Dg-370 is going to be the best move. I am only asking now if there area any options in the $1500 range which I have overlooked. I did consider Eastman's (although they are not strict gypsys) however I decided that I would most likeley want a straight Gypsy. Any supporters of the dg-370? or are there any suggestions? Thanks again guys

Eastman makes excellent archtops (I used to have one), but you would not be happy with any archtop for gypsy jazz. It would get buried in a jam with gypsy guitars.

I played a manouche latcho drom the other day and was really impressed. I'm not familiar with the models you mentioned, but the latcho drom would be (and is) on my short list of guitars in that price range.

  • I am a recent purchaser of a used Latcho Drom 101, and it is an excellent instrument -- and right in your price range.
