    Hey Adrian,

Thanks for posting this. I'm in Chicago, and I've been working up Gypsy Jazz stuff on hammered dulcimer for a couple years now. I'm just getting to the point where I feel confident on a few tunes playing out. I occasionally get together with Alfonso to play, we're old friends. Anyway, I'm getting tired of only playing with backing tracks on the computer, and would jump at the chance to jam with others. I'll keep my eyes out here for opportunities, but anyone in Chicago is welcome to PM me if you're interested in getting together.

Where is there going to be gypsy jazz on Thursdays? I can't find that info although I know it's here somewhere. As I recall it's somewhere near Irving Park and Western?

    Katerina's?
Alfonso plays there sometimes, but I don't if anything is going on this week.

You might be thinking of the Galaxie, which has hosted semi-frequent gypsy jazz jams. I think those have happened on Thursdays. There don't appear to be any jams scheduled there for the moment, though.

    I located the info.

Thursday nights at "The Charlston" in the Bucktown area of Chicago. Gypsy jazz bands each Thursday throughout April. I tried to convince some of my colleagues to come with. Music starts between 8:30 and 9:00pm.

Yeah, you guys should come out tonight! 2076 N. Hoyne, starting around 8:30-ish. Tonight it'll be the Gypsy Trio (David Moulthrop, Dan Lopatka and I). If you show up, make sure to come say hi.

Chicago is becoming pompe-licious from the sound of it. Maybe I should move back.

That was GREAT! Wish I could've stayed for the 2nd set. Nice job working in the Muppets into Belleville and the funkyfied one (forgot which one was it).
What is it with jazz upright bassists in this city? Every time I see a jazz act bassist kicks ass! That would include your guy too.
Let me know when your next show is, I'll try to come, I really enjoyed last night.
