I did a search of the forum and couldn't find any threads on desert isle discs. If you could only bring a handful, what would you bring?

Look around though - because I think somewhere there's a thread for Desert Island GJ disks - though it was called "...recommendations... where musicality is the focus, not shredding." or something like that.

So let's see. Instead of re-posting my GJ disks - how about if I add my non-GJ island disks... hopefully that's not too off topic.

Barney Kessel "To Swing or Not"...
    Brubeck's Time Out...
Miles Live Friday Night at the Blackhawk...
    Coletrane's Ballads...
    Van Halen 1...
    Zepplin 4...
    Clifford Brown's Memorial Album...
Billie Holiday & Lester Young - Lady Day & Pres...
Dexter Gorton's Our Man in Paris...
    Sinatra's Come Fly with Me...
    Oscar Peterson's "On the Town"...
Eddie Harris' first album on Mercury... (eponymous I think... the rust colored cover)
    BG in HiFi...
Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"...
    Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers...
    Julian Bream's Spanish Recital...
    Albinoni's Adagio (Karajan / Berliner)...
Dvorak's New World Sympony (Reiner / Chicago or Bohm / Vienna)...
Heifitz - Sibelius Concerto (Hendl / Chicago)
Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life
    Oingo Boingo Only a Lad...
    Talking Heads Little Creatures...
    Public Enemy Nation of Millions...
    Beach Boys Pet Sounds,
    Beatles Revolver

...uggh... I'll stop now... almost impossible to stop..
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.
