Hi All
I have been talking to Matthew Goins at Blue Chip Machining about making a special GJ pick at .80 thou (approx. 2MM)
He is willing to make them but the cost would be about $50 per pick. I know this sounds expensive however the cost of the material they are made from is brutally high. He actually makes no money on the larger 60 thou picks due to the cost of the material.
Advantages
Least pick noise of any pick I have heard
Stays in fingers really well (when clean)
Doesn't seem to wear - I have well over 300 hours of hard picking on my .60 and it doesn't look any different except possibly not quite as glossy on the tip almost impossible to tell.
Disadvantages
It hurts if lost
My reason is that I still feel a bit of flex in the pick when I pick fast and hard and I want to eliminate that small flex and put all the energy in the string.

 Well ... being an impatient kinda guy I have ordered enough of theses picks to have him make them.
Sorry I forgot to add ... only available for right handed pickers at the moment
They will come in the TP1R shape which is two pointier ends (very slightly more pointed than the single Wegen 2.5mm) and one rounded point (very slightly more rounded than a Wegen Trimus)
If anyone wants to give one a try PM me. I'm not making money on them and if they sell they will be come available from blue chip. 8)

c
Punchier attack and no flex when picking hard and fast. Seems to come off the strings faster as I can play faster and more cleanly with the 80 than I can with the 60.
cheers
Matthew isn't sharing the material info (understandably) as his pick business is growing very well. What I have been told is that it is brutally exepensive
