Diz Disley who kept Django's music alive in the UK when it was almost forgotten and brought Stephane Grappelli back from the wilderness has recently died.

Thats sad news-Apparantly he was pretty hard to live with as an artist with many eccentricities..much like his hero I suppose. The video of Stephane playing with Diz in the Californian vineyard is great (Paul Massons place?) 8)

Diz was a great guy. I came to Great Britain in the mid '70s and and the only guitarists who would give me the time of day were Diz and Ike Izaacs. Diz went out of his way to introduce me to Grappelii and ensure that Django's music became a part of my life until this day. Thanks Diz.
