Gotta good deal on a backup guitar at GC today. It's a Gitane D500 with a pickup already installed. Loud and rich sounding - it's a real beef cannon. It has some funky bridge for the pickup, with the original stairstep bridge in the case. I suspect I will have Josh make a new bridge for it and install a K&K Pure Maccaferri pickup soon.
It has loop end strings with green silks on it - anybody know what these are? Not sure how much these strings contribute to the warm sound.

This is a fun guitar, but I really wish I had my pick with me. Le Pompe is hard with just the bare fingers. I guess I'll just have to wait until tonight's rehearsal, although I will then have to compete with Jill for it. Hopefully, I'll have it all dialed in by Saturday's wine-tasting gig.
