players/scene in portland?

i'm just wondering if there are a lot of players/groups/etc in the portland area. i'm heading up soon and wanted to scope it out! i also thought of moving up there at some point...

i'll be up there may 18-22nd, so i was hoping to check out some shows. i'm also just scoping things out if i ever do get the itch to move up there..

there's also a GJ jam every Saturday 4 - 6pm at "Moon & Sixpence" Pub on NE 42nd in the Hollywood District.
