Lessons in Portland OR?

edited May 2010 in Gypsy Jazz 101 Posts: 3
I am in Portland, Oregon, and am looking for a teacher. I've been playing for a while, and am a decent player with a so-so grasp of theory. I am a poor sight-reader, but I can read a bit. I've been working my way through the Jorgenson books and a few other things. Anybody interested?
thanks-
Damon

Hi - you've got a few options depending on where you're at and what exactly you're wanting to learn:

Recommend you contact Pete Krebs one of the founders of the Portland GJ scene for many years, great bloke who can show you many different tricks of the trade from rhythm to lead playing.

also check out the local PDXDJAZZ yahoo group for what's happening on the Portland GJ scene.

What part of town do you live in?

    cheers

If you live in Hollywood district, you're in exactly the right place to make the Moon & Sixpence Pub jam every Saturday 4-6pm...the Pub is on NE 42nd...you can't miss it.

    cheers

    Phil
