I know this is an old thread, but I have been searching for info on this Jo Privat tune too.
I'll be glad to PM or receive PM.
Actually, just a chord chart would be all I am looking for.
There is also an updated Jo Privat Website which has all the sheet music but one needs to register, and it's NOT automated (one needs to submit and wait for an answer). I've submitted and will re-post if what I'll find (once I get access) does not match above.
The scan is quite good. THANKS!
However, it's your comments that have me confused now.
"F#dim to Ré (Dm?)" and you have it as F7th instead of "Ré" (Dm)?
I had it simplified
Am, Am, Dm, Dm, E7, E7, Am, Am
Am, Am, Bb7, Bb7, B7, F9, E7, E7 (interesting too that lack of clear minor/Major definitions of the A chords)
But I must admit, that around the first Am to Dm segment, there is just something missing to my ear, but I can't really seem to fully satisfy it with that "F#dim" alone instead of the first Dm. Yet I am somewhat suspecting that the F7th you seem to put in, is really a Cdim which also carries the F# note, making it also an F#dim (as a dim can have any of it's 4 notes rotated into the root). But then it DOES make sense to the ear to replace the Dm with and F7th althogether after experimenting with that idea.
In other words, something's still eluding me here... AND it's EXACTLY at the spot where the tune stands out so beautifully.
Hah. Those notes are from my years ago and I regret placing them on the only copy we had of that. I think of that first passage as you, with a descending bass line.We play it in 4 as well.
