I have just got this album. I know young folks join Djangobooks all the time and one of the first questions asked is ' how do i bridge the gap between Django's playing and modern players such a Stochelo or Bireli' ? In so many words. Romane and Stochelo have recorded three albums all with backing bands and if i was to point a young guitarist, in the direction of where manouche/gypsy jazz is going, all of these albums light the way in the most genuine sense. As John Huston says to Jack Nicholoson in the last scene in the movie Chinatown, ' The future Mr. Gettis, the future'. For all newcomers listening to this album, my only words would be, ' the future Mr. listener, the future'.
Hey redblues, I presume you're Irish because of the avatar maybe not though, where did you get the album, download or buy in store, order?
The preview sounds good and the videos of recording it on youtube were cool.
I also recommend 7digital where this album is available for only $ 7.77, why pay more to download? Thanks to thickpick for his referral to this site, as I also downloaded Adrien's new CD from there and they're definitely legit and it was a breeze to downloaded.

$7.77 for 320k MP3s. I've bought from them before and had no problems.
