Hi, Michael!
This time I want to ask you Which part of the middle finger should make contact with the first string when executing the famous ascending chromatic run? the tip? the side? which side?
I ask because the string is cutting my skin kind of deep.
Whats the deal? should I form a new callous? am I doing it wrong?
are my guitar or strings to blame? has this ever happened to you?
Thank you in advance

I think the problem is that I was using the side of my finger, and since I dont have a callous there, the string slowly made its way into my skin...Ouch!...I didnt even notice at first though.
Im gonna go back to using the tip as soon as the wound heals.
Practicing too much?... I dont think so, in fact I often find myself wishing for longer days, so I could play more. (I have a pretty time consuming girlfriend , what can I do? I love her!)
Thank you again.
P.S. As for skin, I had a problem with the index because of the barre on first 2-3 strings, but after a couple of weeks the skin became strong enough... )))
Thanks for your responses you´re helping me a lot.
I´ve got a new one, What fingering do you use for the descendingversion of the purely chromatic run? Do you use your pinky on the fourth fret or do you slide your index from the second to the first frets?
Thank you so much.

I usually just do the descending chromatic runs in the open position. So I use my first three fingers and then an open string. It also works using just two fingers and then sliding with the index down to the open string (which is what Django did.)
