    Here's a (poorly) translated version:
    http://tinyurl.com/benmr

Am I right in that the gist of it is that Albert is a fifty-ish gypsy in Alsace who sings these wonderful tunes, and he and some friends/family (including Mandino & Sony) got together and self produced a four song CD? And that it's possible a follow up might be forthcoming with a dozen or so tunes?

Right or not, the clip is a treat-thanks, Dennis. Off to hit my dictionnaire.

    Best,
    Jack.

(I hope that) Barengero means "bricklayer" or "mason".

    Hi all,

unfortunately the "manoucheries"-site is down. Has anybody any informations about Albert Weiss and can tell how to get his recordings?

you can ask christobal from manoucheries.com or mandino .... i have a friend who is yorgui's cousin who takes lessons with mandino, i will ask him to see if he can get a copy of it.... in the meantime enjoy some alsacian gypsy pop music that he sent me hehehe

    Hi all,
The small cd is out of print now (200 copies only I guess...).
But Mandino should record a full album with Albert Weiss soon (we hope...). Then these four nice tracks will be include in the new album.
Check here, a beautiful text (in beautiful french, I mean...) from Cristo, a friend of Mandino; there are four samples as well:

    Bye,
