sad news this morning Dec 29 with the passing of Mondine Garcia.
La Chope & Mondine are truly a part of Paris & a big part and the legacy of the music of Django.
My sympathy to Ninine and all his family.

Yes it is sad he has died and a certain mystique has developed around him but, in truth, he was a very average guitarist. There are many other far better players who have died unheralded.

Sad news indeed.

Before the place was refurbished, listening to Mondine & Ninine in La Chope des Puces was like stepping back in time. Special memories.

Imho Mondine had a great feel for a valse when he was younger.
