Dave Biller plays excellent Tele on at least some recordings by Dale Watson, so if you're looking for other styles, that's a place to start.
BTW, if you like Haggard and "outlaw" country, Watson may be your thing. He's young and smart and country to the core. I saw him once in Madison (without Biller) and thought it was a great show.
I ordered Biller's CD from the Japanese site over a year ago and the guy who runs it is an English speaking chap: he sent me the disc and a deposit slip for his Bank of America account, with a request that I deposit $20 into the account (no money up front; no credit card info typed into a webpage).
It was definitely different!
Love the disc: Biller kills (as the kids today say)!
best,

PS: special thanks to Cuimean for hipping me to the disc in the first place!
Hello everybody!! i don't get at my computer very much these days so i don't get a chance to participate in these forums, but i felt that i should pop in here and let you guys know that i really appreciate your interest in my cd and your support. i was very flattered that Ed asked me to do the interview. i have to admit that i haven't been playing gypsy music much over the last couple of years, but i had a wonderful time exploring it and what I've learned so far has been really helpful in all aspects of my playing. I've carried it all with me on all the different types of gigs I've played. cuimean, did we meet at that Genghis Cohen show? i remember the gig well because i had pneumonia and was running a 103 fever. i was miserable! we got paid 10 bucks apiece for that gig. ah..the memories!! OK, enough with the jabbering! mainly, i just wanted to say hello and thanks to all you guys and a big thanks to Ed for taking the time to talk with me. ton pote, dave
It probably wasn't me; I was too awed to speak to any of you. I think I got up the gumption to talk to Josh at the Foothill show, and that was only because you guys played "Banks of the Ohio," one of my mom's favorite songs.
Thanks for taking the time to post, and, of course, for the great music. Will you have any recordings (in any style) coming out in the near future?

Clip of Biller and Wakefield at YouTube: not really Gypsy but swinging in a Speedy West/Jimmy Bryant vein!
From the Continental Club, in a galaxy far, far away...
