Hi Everyone,
I've modified the forum so you can now add attachments to your posts. How cool is that?
You can attach all sorts of files:
Images (JPEG, PDF, GIF, etc)
Audio (MP3, WAV, etc.)
Video (WMA, RM, AVI, etc)
I hope this will make everyone's forum experience much, much richer. So start posting your audio, video, images, etc!
I might make a few special forums just to post video and audio. Let me know what you think of that....
Just to show you how this works...here's a vid of the Rosenberg Trio:

A video/audio forum sounds like a great idea.
Thanks a lot, this is by far the best forum of this sort anywhere!
I noticed it would accept .doc files (MSWord), but not the leaner and more universally read (by software, not by people) Rich Text format (extension is .rtf)
I usally save stuff in Rich Text, because as a (reluctant) MS Word user, there's almost never a downside, and usually some hard disc space savings.
If it isn't difficult, you might consider changing the settings to allow for these files.
Best,
Neil
I just added the rtf file option. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
That reminds me, if anyone tries to upload a file type and it doesn't work let me know. I can probaby add that file type to the system.

Michael and fellow Players,
What do I need in the way of equipment and software to upload sound files to this forum. My friend just loaned me his Tascam Portastudio four track tape machine.
What do I need to transfer the cassette sounds to my computer - also, what program should I use or acquire to convert the files to MP3?
I just ordered "Band in a Box" 2006 - will it work?
Thanks,
Tom - an old guy who is not up on the latest music software and equipment!

Most computers have a mini-plug input, you can hook an RCA(white/red) to mini-plug cable from the main output of the Tascam there.
Regarding the software, if you can afford it Cool Edit is a good program, you can save in a lot of formats (Including MP3), and it also lets you slow down and loop audio (you can even zoom in, and isolate single notes or chords), very useful for transcribing fast stuff, you can also transpose or alter the pitch of a recording.
I don´t have "Band in a Box", so I´m not sure if it will work.
Hope this helps,
-Enrique
I still have the problem with PC Firefox -- nothing shows up beyond the little table with the name of the file and the number of times it's been viewed.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
