I purchased a Gitane DG255 about 8 months ago. I am VERY pleased with it, I think it is very good value for money, well built, and sounds excellent. I fitted a set of light gauge John Pearse "Nuages" strings and apart from that it is as it came form the dealer. I notice that on the forum that owners of Gitane guitars are advised to change the bridge, I wonder why?

I bought a DG255 a couple of weeks ago and really like it. My only problem is that the D and G strings are rather flat at the 12th fret, so maybe not all Gitane's have equally good bridges.
I'm hoping to find someone in my local area who works specifically on gypsy jazz guitars to improve things. So far, though, I've not found anyone.
