Guitar shops in Paris?

I have a friend who is going to Paris for two weeks starting on Thursday and is thinking about upgrading his guitar. Can anyone recommend some reputable shops? He grew up over there, can speak French, so language is not a problem.

Adrian keeps up a cool google maps page for GJ sites in Paris. Has quite a few music stores!

I see he has R&F Charles, however I don't see Castelluccia. We collaborate and make Adrian's page here the go-to place for things GJ in Paris.

Makes me want to book a plane ticket...

jkaz -- check out Rue de Douai (it's on the map, as a blue line toward the north side of the city). It's a ton of guitar stores, one after another. Not all of them have gypsy jazz guitars, but many do. Also, R&F Charle is a must-see. It's kind of hard to find -- it's in an indoor mall kind of thing.

Thanks, Adrian. My buddy already left for Paris, but was pretty familiar with the location of most of these places. His mom now lives in Paris, so he'll be there for a little while.

Also, he's going to see Les Doigts on Saturday.

Had a quick couple of days in Paris last week so had to check out the usual guitar shops, but while some (Casanova the ex-RF Charles shop) were closed those I could check over at Pigalle did not have much of interest in GJ guitars.

Apart from an Altamira 'Chorus' style at about regular retail price I could not find much else. Casanova probably had the usual gems in stock but the window display had a fancy Hofner Galaxy, a Framus and a Tele'

while the others mostly seem to want to sell vintage Fenders at inflated prices. I did enquire about a cute Di Mauro mandolin at one shop but 600Euros seemd a bit much, the last one I bought was less than 200.
