    Christophe is unique, such an underrated guitarist... here is playing Blues en Mineur not exactly replicating Django's solo but interpretating it. Not so many around who can do that...

    I agree. His Latcho Drom recordings remain among my very favorites. While I am not as up on his modern stuff, I understand he now teaches guitar at a college in France and has experimented in all kinds of styles and techniques including playing the guitar strung backwards. Says it opens up a whole new pallet of constructs and sounds, as one can well imagine.

    Joli Gadjo was kind enough to point me to Lartilleux's eratiug (guitar spelled backwards) site with videos and explanations. As I listen to his eratiug Minor swing, I still hear that quirky Lartilleux sound I like so much.
