hi

when you play chords accompaniament, do you mute strings with your left hand fingers( alternating between pressing strings hard and light to the point where you don't press strings) or just with your right hand palm? any youtube videos?

I'm pretty much a beginner but I have not seen any use of right hand muting unless it was for a special effect. With the standard hand position it's pretty much physically impossible under normal playing conditions.

Get Michael's Gypsy Rhythm book and Denis Chang's "Art of Accompaniment" DVD and you'll have a good solid year or two of material to work on.
