There is possibly only a handful of players on the planet who could play this tune with conviction, but there is only one who could have arranged it. Take a bow Angelo, your finest.

Angelo has such incredible sensitivity, power and control that is reflected in this arrangement of a traditional tune. He plays this on his 2002 cd "Impromptu." Thanks for posting!

He kicks off his Django 100th Anniversary set with a fine version also, followed by a snappy version of his great waltz Maneges. The stage set is all a bit twee for me personally but Debarre really does have a wonderful and very distinctive touch to his 'old school' more traditional style. Even when he blazes the tone is crisp and melodic at all times, instead of blazing runs for the sake of it. Nobody swings a waltz like Debarre or Romane to my ear at least.
