I've recently gained access to a medium sized mammalian skeleton.I would like to try my hand at making some picks but I'm not sure what bones would be best for this.
Is it mainly the density that matters or is it texture that I should be concentrating on?
I was considering the femur but If I recall correctly there is some kind of honeycomb structure going on there.

I've tried horn, bone, rock, wood, metal, buttons, and I think coconut is the best, much easier to make, too.

I shall try both methods,
thankfully albino gorillas are extinct in Ireland so coconuts shouldn't be a problem.
