Hi all,

Does anyone know which guitar is Koen de Cauter plays on Vaya Con Dios song Neh Nah Neh?

It sounds so great, love the agressive sound.

I just wonder is the guitar overproduced on the record, or it is its natural sound.

I'll take a guess though... he has a particularly nice growly old mid period (early-mid 600s) Selmer that he plays a lot, and his recordings tend to be very natural. Fapy's recordings are like this too. Check out recordings of Koen De Kauter, Waso, and Fapy Lafertin if you like this natural acoustic sound.

I love the sound, and also his style of playing. Really tasty, without bunch of meaningless notes.

I never heard any Selmer replica with similar sound. Somehow it has that dark but cutting tone.

I heard this song when i was twelve first time. Back then i never heard of gj nor Django. I fell in love with the sound of that guitar, and few years later i watched Sweet and Lowdown movie. Then i realized, that Vaya Con Dios song was GJ(not authentic ofcourse), started exploring the style, and started playing guitar.

So this particular guitar truly changed my life.

Some day, if not Selmer, ill find the replica that sounds similar.
