Manouche Bag in Jersey City/Brooklyn

edited November 2011 in North America Posts: 1,238
We're going to be in Brooklyn at Fada for a few nights in October and November. We have a rotating cast of characters that come to play and sit in with us at our regular weekly gig in Jersey City and we plan on bringing some of this across two waterways in Brooklyn. If you're around, want to eat some good food, and get a little rowdy with us, we'll be at Fada on October 8th, November 5th, and November 12th. Hope to see you there.

  • Just a reminder, we still play weekly in Jersey City on Thursday nights starting at 8pm. It's a mix a gypsy jazz and french pop tunes adapted to the style and is a nice spin on the genre. Setup is two guitars, vocals, sax/melodica, and bass. We tend to have good players sit in weekly...horn players, violinists, vocalists, and drummers have been known to stop by, in addition to guitar players. Most of the guys that sit in are local jazzers and definitely make it fun to listen to and play with.

If you think you might stop by to eat and listen, I'd suggest making a reservation. Cash only/BYOB. Food is good and affordable and the vibe is intimate and friendly.
If you think you might want to sit in, drop me a PM and I can give you some details about the space, tunes, times, and what you might need to bring. Space is tight so it's a good idea to contact me if you want to play.

Additionally, we'll be playing at Fada in Brooklyn on December 16th. The address is listed above.

If you do show up, make sure you come introduce yourself between sets. I'm the guy wearing glasses and am always happy to meet new folks and to gab the night away about all things GJ.

    Hope to see you soon!
