I saw this film before I had even heard of Gypsy Jazz, and the theme (I later found out to be Minor Swing) really caught my ear. NOW of course I know what a non-standard version it is, but at that time I didn't know any better. Also at about the same time I was getting interested in jazz violin (through a rediscovery of the soundtrack of The Sting), which lead me to Stephane Grappelli, who of course became famous with Django. Coincidence? I think not...

Fun fact - a drummer I played with years ago in Edinburgh was the guy who played the pots and pans on this track, he was also in the movie for about 1 millisecond..
