Sad news. A friend of mine saw on the French Gypsy Jazz site messages saying that Moreno had an aneurism and is in a coma. That's all I know. Here's the link to the French site. http://guitarejazzmanouche.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24205

    Very sad news, Ed.

And we begin to see how important the work that Patrus is doing truly is.

Think good thoughts. Sometimes these things can be remedied quickly, and France has one of the world's best medical systems - so lets think good thoughts for him...
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.

Yes, very sad news. Moreno is one of my favourite players; his "Bolero" CD being one of the first GJ CDs that I bought. A wonderful player with a unique style. I wish him well. ~ cheers Phil

    A sad day.
Moreno was one of my favorite players- a great memory seeing his trio and marina at Bistro l'estache (sp?) while in paris a few years ago. . . him playing holding a cigarette and a glass of cognac and playing better then I do on my best day!
I wish him a speedy recovery.

  • I am saddened by the news. I truly enjoyed his playing. My thoughts are with him and his family.

When a friend was sick his son setup an online donation site to help with the extra expenses. Do you think that would be possible to do for Moreno and his family? Are there any legitimate direct contacts with him, maybe Teddy G?

If we all chipped in at least a little I imagine it could provide some extra needed help.

unbelievable....!!!! very sad news for sure
since 2003 every time we meet it was so special and the last time in March 2010 for the interview
it was very very special moment, (it was a perfect night for my last in Paris)

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, Marina, Liouba, Nikak & Baro and many more.

Just got good news from Nikak (Moreno rhythm gt),
that Moreno is getting better and waking up "phase de reveil" in French

Keep fighting Moreno.....we love you and your music
