A new DVD by celebrated improviser Tim Kliphuis

edited December 2011 in CD, DVD, and Concert Reviews Posts: 2
Hey guys,

Given his strong understanding of the Grappelli style, and his position as one of the world's great improvisers, I thought you might like to know that Tim Kliphuis has just brought out his first concert DVD. It was shot in the beautiful cloisters at Iford Manor, UK, in front of a live audience.

The DVD is a fusion of all different styles and Tim has tried to weave together influences as diverse as Gypsy, Celtic Folk, Renaissance Classical, trad and modern jazz - the centrepiece is a reworking of all four movements of Vivaldi's four-seasons, only with a "Kliphuisian" twist as it's played by his jazz quartet which comprises David Newton on Piano, Nigel Clark on Guitar and Roy Percy on Bass.

There's a clip below of what to expect and copies are available from http://www.ifordrecordings.co.uk

Enjoy!
