Hank Sr is a great addition to the thread, guitarmike. Anyone interested in him and/or his cohorts should check out Ken Burns's Country Music documentary. They even reference Django in it.
My favorites are certainly flexible and always changing, but for now I've been listening to John Fahey, Tommy Jarrell and Jerry Garcia. And maybe a bit of Wilburn Burchette and Robert Fripp for good measure...
