We don't hear a whole lot of sax with Django's music these days it seems to me. Whenever I think about it though, I think of this great concert with Angelo Debarre + friends from 2003. Gerry Niewood is the player here. Played mostly with Chuck Mangione and tragically died in a commercial plane flight when the pilot stalled the aircraft on approach in NY.

It was hard to leave Rollins and Turrentine off that list, but I do have a preference for the Alto.
For those who like Django's music and the modern sax, check out James Carter's albums of Django music. Seriously post bop/modern, but still a way cool interpretation of Django's music.
