I had the strings of my Altamira attached to the new tailpiece like this:
but saw several guitars with the same tailpiece having the strings attached like this:
I tried this variation, thinking that there will be a different angle (string to top) with more pressure to the bridge, thus increasing tone and volume (which already are very satisfying). But the string angle almost remained the same (strings lifted the tailpiece), only effect was an awful sympathetic ringing caused by the shorter afterlength.
So I changed everything back to where it was before. Has anybody similar eperiences with that type of tailpiece?

Guitar rings so nice and the player isn't bad either.
Tip, to avoid downloading the file, open it in new tab and it will stream.
... and another recording of the pimped Altamira:
Two little recordings of my old french guitar
Nice sound, especially on the chord study - very resonant.
Interesting: the chord study was recorded with the two internal mics of the DP008, "Nuages" with a separate mic (also "Manoir").
Just tried this new tab trick, genius.

I suppose larger surface of strings to tailpiece contact was making more of the ringing.
Yes, maybe.
But why does this attachement obviously work with other guitars and not with mine? 😥
And I have always had the strings under the tailpiece on my St Louis Blues but never noticed any unwanted noises.
if strings are wrapped under, would a strip of foam or felt under the edge of tailpiece nearest the bridge deaden any ringing??
