It sounds like Nousche sometimes plays half step approach notes on the E or D string, on the upbeat before a chord change. I can't seem to find him doing it in any live videos and the technique stumps me. Anyone else hear it? Around 1:10 and 1:27 it is prominent. Nice effect.

Yep, you'll often hear bassists do those approach notes. When going from the V to I it can be cool to do an approach note from a half step above the tonic, especially if you hear the soloist playing altered lines over the V.
Yeah totally. I want to see how Nousche has incorporated them into a smooth Bossa rhythm. Anyone know if this is demonstrated on the DC Music courses? I have volume 2 and it is not.
