As always, Buco nails it. Hey Buco, please post something, anything--tells us what you're listening to, etc... I just want to see your posts hit 5,000!
Thank you, Mike, lol, am I really up there? Afraid to look...FYI this is the only Internet "social media" I'm a part of (aside from occasional YT videos) so I have a life away from the Internet...or, do I...
PS sure enough, one to go!
PPS looks like I blew it on edit lol, I didn't realize those count towards the total post count...
Me too, brother! No Facebook, no Instagram here, no other forums for me. But I sure love me some djangobooks! Congrats on 5K posts of GJ wisdom, we all benefit from your insights.
I was gonna abstain from posting and post a pic of glass of beer and toast tonight. But since I blew my 5K post, here's a toast with another morning coffee, just made it, cheers
PS one of the things that told me I found my Internet forum home is that people here don't get bent out of shape for not staying on topic, like: "Stay on the topic, the forum will be impossible to search if you don't!!!" Ok man, I thought we just come here to shoot sh!it...
That said, sorry for derailment, Mr Mondo Slug (Craig had to clue me in on how to read your user name). But I'm happy to see you visit more often. It's not an overstatement to echo what Craig said: you're one of the most original players I know of. Wish I knew where those harmonies come from...I was thinking about starting a topic on that...
One guitar shredder that I used to eat up is the pride of former Yugoslavia, Vlatko Stefanovski and his band Leb i Sol. Usually in his solos, he would set up one or several very simple but melodic motifs before he would kick into the high gear. Even then, while playing bazillion notes it's still easy to hear the tonal center. As in, he wouldn't just meander all over the fretboard, but he would go back and forth between recognizable tones. I always had an absolute joy listening to him, still do. When he kicks into a high gear, it's absolutely exhilarating experience. Here's a sample:
Kokoška (The chicken, certainly a nod to Pee Wee Ellis)

@Buco -- Here's to another 5000!
I recommend a splash of Kahlua is the espresso coffee w/ milk. The best!
All good Buco...Happy 5000th! Hey, glad you like the stuff!!! Peace.
I'll pick up a 50ml sampler if they have it. I'm not much of a mixer guy, mostly everything is straight up for me. But I'd like to get a taste.
Stay on topic!! A minute and a half of drum solo? 😔
You're too young to understand my friend.
