Don't know what's going on with https://bumgarnerguitars.com/ but what I'm seeing is some Thai website:

  • Regardless of Craig's website and bringing this back to the original topic, the price was changed on the original post.

Sorry you still haven't sold this yet, Jim. I'm guessing @DragonPL tried to follow the links to the stuff you wrote about the guitar in your post at the top of this thread, but it just diverts to that bad site (thus still on topic). Not sure if there is a web archive version of what you wrote?

Re: Craig, Last time I saw him several months back, he said he was dialing back on some of the social media stuff. Perhaps he felt he didn't need/want to maintain the website any longer? His reputation as a luthier is sterling and people are aware of him so he's probably good enough with that. Don't want to put words in his mouth, though.

Does this guitar have a truss rod?

Do you have any videos of it being played solo?

Does it sound like these at all:

  • @DragonPL @billyshakes That's unfortunate that Craig's stuff is down. It was a beautiful archive of his work. Yes, I can post what I wrote a while back and look at the wayback machine to see if I can find it. The second link in the first post has my review with the original specs in it. My intention is just to bring the post back to instrument as the Thai website is a little distracting. I wasn't intending to be disrespectful in any stretch. No need to apologize for it not being sold. It's not a cheap guitar and I've been in the position of being skeptical of purchasing something without it being in my hands.

@CraigHensley There on some videos early in the thread. My solo starts around 1:05 and you can hear my comping for the first guitar solo before it. I would say it is loud and "rounded" and it sounds closer to the second guitar in your links above (2012 Cedar top). The guitar was a perfect compliment to a petit bouche in my years with my band and actively playing. It does have a truss rod inside the neck. If you'd like me to record something solo, I think I can put something together in Michael's style. It will take me a few days and I can't suggest that it will be a quality video, as I'm not that guy, but I can certainly do something.

I'm not aversive to hanging onto it, but I have a few guitars that are just sitting in cases, as I play less live these days. I'm not playing this music at all other than the occasional run through something fun. These should actively be in player's hands. When I go to France to see my longstanding playing partner and dearly missed friend, I'll miss it, but I'll get to play the AJL XO I sold him before he returned home.
