My special treat in May was a visit to the wonderful Django In The Bay, in Rutland, UK.

Here are some photos. Just as last year, the six evening concerts were brilliant. I made sure I joined in with jam sessions.

Robert Ford chatting to Wauwau. The black Busato replica D hole is now Wauwau's, and he played it on stage.

Killy Nonis inspecting my guitar. It attracted quite a lot of interest!

Eliaz Prinz and his sextet - what an amazing group. Eliaz's Favino (number 67) was the most amazing sounding guitar I've ever heard - a growling beast!!! Particularly noticeable at the jam session after the gig.

Don Vink was superb. That's Natalia who organises the festival. The final concert was Tcha and Fapy. What can I say? I was in tears.

What really struck me again was the sound quality - utterly wonderful and totally immersive.

Looks like a fun vibe. That luthier tent scene and some of the basic stage shots remind me of an early Samois when it was still on the Ile de Berceau.

What a phenomenal set of pictures. It shows what was happening really well. What's this guitar of yours? (I'm sure I could dig through your posts and find out but then then we wouldn't have something to talk about)

It's my mystery guitar. We all studied and discussed it at Django In The Bay, but no conclusions were drawn. It's a great sounding guitar, has had some repairs to the top (done very well), only three braces on the top, a replacement fingerboard and a slightly altered scale length at various stages of its life. The heavily bent, braceless walnut back is very nice. I bought it a couple of years ago from a chap in Norfolk, UK, who told me it had belonged in the Ferret family.

Michael sold an identical one within the last couple of years here - https://www.djangobooks.com/Item/1940-mystery-4

    I think mine sounds fantastic.

I put Killy's replica BB tailpiece on mine and made some inlayed moustachios, but it still has its original reverse-turn Delaruelle machine heads.
