    I believe the title is "Oe Djovia." Here's what I have:

    01 Melodie
    02 Fascination
    03 Ileida
    04 Alpha Negro
    05 Maria
    06 Oe Djovia
    07 Valse
    08 Ou Est Tu Mon Amour
    09 Cest Si Bon
    10 Les Feuilles Mortes
    11 Valse
    12 Que Reste-T-Il De Nos Amours
    13 J'attendrai
    14 La Vie En Rose

    I love how Gypsies interpret names of standards.

    "Alpha Negro" is actually the song "Black Orpheus."

    Negro=black
    Alpha=Orpheus ???

    In Portuguese it's Orfeu Negro so it may have been a whisper-down-the-lane version of that title.

    Any idea what "Oe Djovia" translates to in English?

    .....Such a joyful, exquisite CD! My copy only said Fapy Lafertin, so I had no idea who the other musician(s) was, who was singing or the complete song list. Thanks John!
    .....Fapy is a great treat to listen too as he never sacrifices the relationship to melody for speed and technical wizardry and his rhythm style holding the chords longer is so appropriate to these mid-tempo vocal songs. I suppose it is arguable that his overdubbing of the lead guitar and bass removes spontaneous improvisation from the result, but in this case it doesn't matter as Bamboula Ferret's singing/Violin has so strong a presence and Fapy's solos are so clean and sweet! This CD is just as much a great historical record as Jo Privat's "Manouche Partie" featuring Matelot Ferret recorded in 1960 and '66.
    .....I have a friend whose daughter is fluent in French, so I'll have her listen to three or four of the unknown to me songs, and learn one in English for DFNW '07 - Can't Wait!

    Sorry for bringing up an old post, but where did you download it? I can't seem to find it.
    Alternatively, does anyone know where to buy a copy of this album?

    Thanks,
    Max
